The 3 Things I Could Never Find in Sleepwear (So I Made Them)

Before I started Mamu, I had a drawer full of pyjamas that left me asking: Why is it so hard to find sleepwear that actually works?

You’d think we’d have it figured out by now in today's modern world but we still can’t make a pair of bottoms that don’t ride up or pinch in the wrong places.

So I stopped settling. And I started designing. Here are the three things I could never find in sleepwear until Mamu came along.

1. Comfort Without Compromise
You know that pair of cute pyjamas that photograph well, but feel like cardboard after two washes? Or worse, the soft set that starts falling apart by month three? I wanted both: softness that lasts. So I spent months sourcing fabrics that are breathable, buttery, and beautiful all at once. Because your 8 hours (and let's be honest, your Sunday mornings) deserve better.

2. Waistbands That Don’t Wage War on Your Body
Let’s get real: some pyjama bottoms are basically shapewear in disguise. Digging, pinching, riding up in the most unwelcome places. (IYKYK.) Mamu was designed with your body in mind, every curve, every exhale, every stretch on the couch. Our pieces move with you, not against you. No awkward seams. No “adjustment dances.” Just flowy, flattering fits that love you where it counts and yes, even there.

3. Style That Feels Like You
So many sleepwear brands fall into two camps: cutesy or clinical. Where was the middle ground? Where was the elegance, the edge, the you in all of it? With Mamu, I wanted to create pieces that felt personal. Luxurious, but effortless. The kind of sleepwear that makes you stand a little taller in your kitchen at midnight. That you’re proud to answer the door in. That lets your real self show up, mascara-free, barefoot, and still a total goddess.

So if you’ve ever felt like your sleepwear drawer was letting you down, believe me, I get it. That’s why I made Mamu. Because you deserve more than “good enough.” You deserve garments that give comfort, confidence, and maybe even a little spark of joy when you slip them on.

Sleep tight,
Barbara x
